The Williams Companies, Inc. is an energy infrastructure company engaged in the exploration, production, transportation, sale and processing of natural gas and petroleum products. It operates through the following segments: Transmission and Gulf Coast, Northeast G&P and West. The Transmission and Gulf Coast segment includes interstate natural gas pipelines, Transco and Northwest Pipeline, as well as natural gas gathering and processing and crude oil production handling and transportation assets in the Gulf Coast region. The Northeast G&P segment includes midstream gathering, processing and fractionation businesses in the Marcellus Shale region in Pennsylvania and New York and the Utica Shale region in eastern Ohio. The West segment includes natural gas gathering, processing and treating operations in the Rocky Mountain region of Colorado and Wyoming, the Barnett Shale region in north-central Texas, the Eagle Ford Shale region in south Texas, the Haynesville Shale region in northwest Louisiana and the Mid-Continent region including the Anadarko, Arkoma and Permian basins.
