VTRS — Viatris

Pharmaceuticals · Health Care

Viatris Inc. was formed in November 2020 through the merger of Upjohn, Pfizer's wholly-owned subsidiary focused on off-patent medicines, and Mylan, a global pharmaceutical manufacturer focused on generic and specialty medicines. Following the merger, Viatris became one of the world's largest generic drug manufacturers, serving more than 165 countries and regions. Generic medicines (including branded and compounded generics) and biosimilars account for approximately 40% of Viatris' total sales. The remaining 60% of sales come from its legacy portfolio, including Lipitor, Norvasc, Lyrica and Viagra. Viatris spans more than 10 major therapeutic areas and has identified dermatology, ophthalmology and gastroenterology as its three key focus areas for future innovation.
