The PGIM segment provides investment management services and solutions to global institutional and retail clients, as well as the company's general account, across public fixed income, public equity, real estate debt and equity, private credit and other alternatives, and multi-asset class strategies.
The U.S. Businesses segment offers a suite of products and solutions addressing protection, retirement, savings, income, and investment needs. U.S. Businesses comprises five divisions: Retirement, Group Insurance, Individual Annuities, Individual Life, and Assurance IQ. The Retirement division provides retirement investment and income products and services to retirement plan sponsors in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. The Group Insurance division provides group life, long-term and short-term group disability, corporate-owned life insurance, and trust-owned life insurance in the United States, primarily serving institutional clients for employee benefit plans and affinity groups. The Individual Annuities division develops and distributes individual variable and fixed annuity products, primarily targeting the mass affluent and high-net-worth markets in the United States. The Individual Life division develops and distributes individual variable life, term life, and universal life insurance products, primarily serving the mass middle, mass affluent, and high-net-worth markets in the United States. The Assurance IQ division leverages data science and technology to distribute third-party products and proprietary term life insurance products directly to retail consumers through its digital and agent channels.
The International Businesses segment develops and distributes life insurance, retirement, and related products to the mass affluent market in Japan, Korea, and other countries through its life planners operation.
The Closed Block segment consists of certain in-force participating insurance and annuity products and corresponding assets used to support payments related to benefits, expenses, and policyholder dividends associated with these products.
