OTIS — Otis Worldwide

Industrial Machinery & Supplies & Components · Industrials

Otis is the world's largest elevator and escalator provider, with approximately 18% global market share by revenue. In 1854, Otis founder Elisha Graves Otis invented a safety mechanism preventing elevators from falling if lifting cables failed. The company's product and service lifecycle begins with installing elevator units in new construction, followed by selling maintenance services for those units, and concludes with replacing units at the end of their average 15- to 20-year lifespan. As the largest original equipment manufacturer, Otis maintains over 2 million elevators in service within its installed infrastructure. Its business model is similar to that of its closest competitors, KONE, Schindler, and TK Elevator.
