Freeport-McMoRan Inc. is engaged in the mining of copper, gold, and molybdenum. It operates through the following segments: North America Copper Mines, South America Mining, Indonesia Mining, Molybdenum, Rod and Refining, Atlantic Copper Smelting and Refining, and Corporate and Other. The North America Copper Mines segment operates open-pit copper mines in Arizona at Morenci, Bagdad, Safford, Sierrita, and Miami, and in New Mexico at Chino and Tyrone. The South America Mining segment includes Cerro Verde in Peru and El Abra in Chile. The Indonesia Mining segment operates the Grasberg mine, which produces copper concentrate containing significant gold and silver. The Molybdenum segment includes the Henderson underground mine and the Climax open-pit mine, both in Colorado. The Rod and Refining segment includes North America copper conversion facilities, including refineries, rod mills, and specialty copper product facilities. The Atlantic Copper Smelting and Refining segment smelts and refines copper concentrates, and sells refined copper and precious metals in anode slime. The Corporate and Other segment provides other mining and淘汰, oil and gas operations, and other corporate and elimination items.
